Programs to Keep Updated on a regular basis

In the earlier days of the internet, Malware(virus,adware,spyware,trojan's)where mainly caught through opening email attachments or though vulnerabilities in web browsers such as Internet Explorer. Today a majority of these types of virus infections are brought into the computer through outdated third party Browser extensions like Adobe Flash, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Sun's Java, and any media player extension. These third party extensions to the Web Browser are very important features that enable animations, sound and video to web pages, so it is not advised that you uninstall them, but it is of the highest importance that you say "yes" to any request to update these programs to a higher version that addresses new security threats.

Even if asked to be updated weekly, make sure that you say yes to request to update.

1. Adobe Flash

2. Adobe Reader, or Adobe Acrobat

3. Sun's Java

4. Your browser, such as Firefox or Internet Explorer.

These updates will greatly decrease you chance of catching a virus. Also remember to never open attachments in email from someone you don't know, and to never click any popup that says you have a virus if it is not your Anti-Virus program......log off computer.
